I hope you enjoy browsing
around our web site. Of course if you are too proficient it
proves you love computers more than singing/acting. We are
very lucky as a group that we meet on a Wednesday every week all
year and have great fun with hard work putting on shows. We
do not expect fantastic talent, but enthusiasm and a willingness to
"give it a go" is essential.
We do 2
shows a year our spring show tends to be put on at the Oliver Bird
Hall at the back of St Alphege church and our other show is in
November at Solihull arts complex.
This
balance allows us to develop people for different roles rather than
straight into the theatre if people are new to the musical
scene.
As a group
there are about 50 of us but we don't all take part in the one
show. We have auditions for the parts in shows, and we
encourage people to join the society rather than just for the one
show/part. We think of ourselves as a society first and then
the show.
We are very lucky to have a musical director who does not also have
to multi task by playing the piano as well. This makes
rehearsals very productive and much less
stressful.
You are
very welcome in what ever capacity you feel you would like to come
down to see us. It's not just about the singing. There are
also props, costumes back stage issues as well as front of
house.
So carry on surfing, but then get those legs moving and join
us. Drop
us a quick email and we can confirm what we are doing at the
moment.
